Al Bhed

The Al Bhed are a faction of technologists. They are notable for their use of machina and the Al Bhed language that they speak, and can be recognized by the green spiral pattern visible on the irises of their eyes. The Al Bhed are the only ones to openly reject the teachings of Yevon, especially the ban on machina. For this reason they are often ostracized by the rest of the population, and have been the victims of attacks by Yevonites in the past. Al Bhed also take a keen interest in the technological past of Spira, organising salvage operations and excavations of ancient technology.

Guado

Guado are an arboreal humanoid race. They are elvish in appearance with long limbs, over-sized hands, and plant-like hair. They are the protectors of Spira's afterlife, the Farplane and of the Macalania Woods They were converted to the religion under their leader, Jyscal Guado, but were soon led down a path of ruin by Jyscal's own son, Seymour who learned and exploited the true nature of Yevon to deadly ends.

Ronso

The Ronso are a race of furred lion-like humanoids . Ronso live on Mt. Gagazet and guard the sacred mountain fiercely. They are formidable warriors, being very tall and amazingly strong, and are known for their strong sense of honor and loyalty, as well as their pride and quickness to anger. Another prominent feature is a long, sharp horn on their forehead. This horn, especially for the male Ronso, is a symbol of their great strength and pride and to lose the horn in battle is considered extremely shameful.
