Personality: Tifa, although kind hearted at most times, has a fiery temper. Upsetting her in the slightest way could result in a fist fight. She has the mindset of a tomboy and likes to do things that boys do such as fighting. To anyone she does not know, it would take a long time to gain her trust.However, to those who already have, she would trust them with her life. She tends to them in a caring way and is the best type of friend a person could have. She would do anything to protect them even if the feeling was not returned. Because of this though, she finds it extremely hard to lose someone close.

history-Tifa Lockhart was born in Nibelheim, and grew up with Cloud Strife. Although they were not friends as children, she developed a crush on him when they were teenagers, after he left for Midgar to train for Shin-Ra's elite military corps SOLDIER. While living in Nibelheim, Tifa became a powerful martial arts expert by learning from a master Zangan.
When she was fifteen, Tifa acted as a Nibelheim guide for a group of SOLDIER personnel inspecting the Mako Reactor in the Nibelheim Mountains. The group consisted of the 1st class SOLDIERs Sephiroth and Zack, as well as two MPs, one of which, unbeknownst to Tifa, was Cloud. After the inspection the group returned to town, and Sephiroth stayed in the basement of the Shin-Ra mansion to read through the research notes left by Professor Gast. What he discovered made a grudesome change in him. One night without warning, he set fire to Nibelheim and slaughtered the townspeople. With her hometown in ruins and most of her loved ones dead, Tifa followed Sephiroth as he returned to the reactor, only to find that Sephiroth had murdered her father as well. In blind rage she attempted to kill Sephiroth with his own sword, but he was too quick for her. Sephiroth took his sword and made a quick reflexive attack which seriously injured Tifa. As Cloud made his way into the reactor to follow Tifa, Zack, and Sephiroth, he found Tifa's lifeless body at the bottom of the reactor stairs. Tifa looked up at Cloud and said that he had kept his promise after all, that he would be her hero and save her when she was ever in trouble. Cloud, in the same rage Tifa had when she saw her dying father, moved Tifa's body aside and went forward to attack Sephiroth in the room ahead. After Cloud and Zack fought Sephiroth, Zangan found and returned the grievously injured Tifa to safety.
Due to the seriousness of her injuries, Zangan brought an unconscious Tifa to the city of Midgar to have her healed. Zangan left her in the care of a doctor, before returning to his travels. When Tifa recovered, she set up a bar named "7th Heaven" in Midgar's Sector Seven. There she met Barret Wallace, the leader of the resistance group AVALANCHE. Tifa joined, as she wanted revenge on Shinra for the events that had occurred in Nibelheim. Later, when Cloud came to Midgar, Tifa convinced him to join their fight as well.
A story from Tifa's point of view, set after Sephiroth was defeated, and before Advent Children. Tifa, Cloud and Barret move to a town just outside of Midgar, called Edge, and set up a new Seventh Heaven as they attempt to build a "family". After Barret leaves to settle his past, Cloud and Tifa tend to the orphan Denzel and Barret's daughter, Marlene. Tifa also sets Seventh Heaven as an orphanage, caring for the other children orphaned by Geostigma.When Tifa and Marlene go to Aerith's Church in the slums, they discover that this is where Cloud is staying and that he has Geostigma. Loz enters the church is search for part of Jenova, and he and Tifa fight him. Tifa tries to protect Marlene, but is eventually knocked unconscious. When she wakes at home she convinces Cloud to try to save Marlene, Denzel, and the other Geostigma-infected children captured by Kadaj, Yazoo and Loz. Tifa's role in Advent Children is primarily that of caretaker of Marlene and Denzel.
